Pre-Christmas update

Yikes! Almost 3 weeks since our last blog! Here's a recap of what's happening around here.

This picture was taken this past Sunday (Dec. 20) on day 46 of the build. Since our last blog the shingles were put on and the entire house has been insulated and drywalled. That was as of last Friday, though, so we're sure more has happened this week, we just haven't gone IN the house check out the progress. When Stacey took the kids out last Friday to see how everything looked with the drywall in, it was like a sauna when we walked in! The huge gas heater in the basement area was going full force to prepare for laying the slab. It was quite a shock to feel that kind of heat. Check out all the recent house pictures on the web album.

Michael hit the 5-month mark last week. We celebrated by mopping the spit-up off our clothes for the millionth time. (Seriously, when will that stop?) He keeps us on our toes, for sure! He has cut his front two bottom teeth and went through a stage of sticking his tongue out a lot as he gor used to the different feeling in his gums (See picture above). He has been adding some consonants to the sounds he makes and jabbering a lot, really loudly. Mostly da-da's but some ga's, as well. He is really loving to play with toys now and turns over onto his tummy when we leave him on his back. Then he gets really mad and whines, or he spits up. Babies are so much fun!!

Sarah turned 3 this past weekend. She has become our little princess, dressing up and dancing and wanting to watch princess movies all the time. And like many princesses, she is quite demanding, dramatic, and every bit a 3-year-old trying to be the center of the universe. She also has a tendancy to get into things that she shouldn't as seen by this video. She thought she was taking pictures with Trevor's camera, but it was set to video mode.

Trevor is getting really good a bossing his little sister around. We have definitely entered the age of sibling rivalry. She has started to repeat everything his says, and he gets very annoyed at her (it's pretty funny, actually). He is doing very well in preschool and bummed that school is now out for Christmas break. I suppose he will fill his days building things out of Tinkertoys and Legos, his two favorite things to play with. I'm sure there will be a lot of sledding taking place, too - he just can't get enough of that.

Be sure to check the December web album for all the new pictures we have added. Hopefully we'll get more uploaded after the Christmas morning frenzy :)
