The spy, the bumble bee and Spider Man went out for a walk... and they came home with a ton of candy that their parents now have to face daily with very little willpower to stay away..
The older I get, the less I like Halloween. But my kids always look cute dressed up and love candy of any kind, so I try to tolerate the scary stuff and silly stuff and try not to be too much of a killjoy. And praise the Lord for decent weather this year, so they could make it around the block without coats on!
Both Trevor and Sarah had fall parties at school today. Michael could have worn his costume to ECFE this morning, but flat out refused. He wouldn't put it on until time to trick-or-treat when we said the word "treat." Amazing how quickly he will do what you ask when you bribe him with sweet things.
Sarah went to a Halloween party at her friend Chelsea's karate class. It started out just fine - she was excited to be with her friend and playing a game, but quickly tears ensued. Some of the instructors costumes were scary to her, she didn't like the loud music, and when she lost the game, the crying began. Did I mention I don't like Halloween?
To end the evening, Michael ate a lot of chocolate and then proceeded to race around the house. He ran full force into our recliner again and again, assuring us he will one day make his father proud as a line backer. All this while wearing only a diaper, mind you. And yelling at the top of his lungs.
