Sarah is 9 months old!

While technically she turned nine months last week, we just now got into the doctor for Sarah's check-up today (one week later!). She is in the 50th percentile for her weight, height and head size. So we have a very average baby, at nearly 19 lbs and 27 1/2 inches tall. Also, after having tubes put in her ears at the beginning of the month, she is fluid/infection free and a much happier baby.

These days Sarah is beginning to move around a bit more. Yikes! She's not completely crawling yet, but I am amazed at where she can get to just by leaning forward, landing on her tummy, pushing up, and sitting up again. For this reason we had to put our gate back up at the top of the stairs (much to Trevor's chagrin, since he doesn't know how to open it yet). She also wants to walk around ALL THE TIME while holding someone's hands. She's quite the drama queen if I make her sit down when she still wants to go. But I tell her (as if she could understand) that mommy is going to have serious back problems if I stay hunched over that long!

Trevor is being a great big brother (most of the time). He loves to hug Sarah (sometimes a bit to tightly) and keep her entertained (is jumping back and forth over your baby sister while she lies on the floor and giggles considered entertainment?). He is also learning a lot at "school" lately, like how to sing "YMCA" and "Who Let the Dogs Out?" He also said recently, "Oh shoot, where's my shoe?!" Gotta find out who's teaching him to swear.

The kids are having their portraits taken together this weekend. That should be interesting. Hopefully we'll find time to get coordinating outfits and get Trevor's haircut before Saturday. And then hope that Sarah doesn't have a goopy eye and some kid doesn't throw a rock a Trevor's face in the next two days (yes, that actually happened a couple of weeks ago, and he had a mean-looking "owie" by his eye for several days).

I hope to get some snapshots of our darlings uploaded tonight.
