Oh, to be two weeks old again...

Sarah is two weeks old today! Oh, to be that age again. She pretty much does just what you see in the picture - sleeps! And eats - she seems to want to eat every couple of hours - which explains how she quickly gained nearly a pound in the first 8 days of her life! It will be interesting to see how much more she has gained at her check-up next week.

Life around here is somewhat surreal these days. We look at each other in disbelief sometimes, wondering how it came to be that we now have two children. We get into bed at 9 p.m. hoping that we get a couple of hours of sleep before Sarah wakes up again. Because we know at 3 a.m. we will be praying for her to go back to sleep after two hours of wanting to do nothing but eat.

Trevor is adjusting better than expected. He ignores Sarah most of the time, and wants to touch her face and hair the rest of the time. Luckily he hasn't taken any frustration out on her yet. But it's obvious he misses being the center of the universe. We send a huge thank-you out to John's parents, Denny and Ann, for being here during the first two weeks. What a blessing to have had their help. Not only did they cook and clean, but they also made sure Trevor felt special. Grandparents rock!
